The Illusionist

As I watched the movie The Illusionist, I noticed the main character had a box that had this symbol etched on it.  I associated the symbol with the Mitsubishi logo.  The main character also had an associate who appeared to have ancestry associated with the Far East.  I begin to think what was the…

ETYMOLOGY REVEALED

I am in the final days of this semester finishing up on final projects before their deadline. Last night in one of the assignments, I was answering the question: "What is coherence and why is it worth pursuing?" As with everything now (I am looking to take this even further), when approached with a problem, I go to the Etymology. In Artificial Intelligence (also implied in practically every Object Oriented Program), there is a "thing" called "The Rumpelstiltskin Principle." It basically…

Truly Disrespectful

Most recently the news has been about how disrespectful it was for Colin Kaepernick’s choice to not stand during the National Anthem prior to the kickoff of a football game. In response to his action, he was called everything from unpatriotic to epithets by those who were offended or insulted by his act of protest. I’m not sure how many people actually saw the game or witnessed him refusing to stand, to which he clearly articulated why he decided to do so but the outrage was expressed…
