Zahrah the Windseeker and Author Nnedi Okorafor

I recently saw an interview with this author and the synopsis of this book "Zahrah the Windseeker" reminds me of Octavia Butler. Unfortunately a search in the Memphis public Library shows that this title is not in their collections but, a brief synopsis is that the main character is born "Dada" (has locks) and is shunned in her society, which exists on a jungle planet with technology made out of plants. One day she realizes she can levitate and...the story continues...
