Zahrah the Windseeker and Author Nnedi Okorafor

I recently saw an interview with this author and the synopsis of this book "Zahrah the Windseeker" reminds me of Octavia Butler. Unfortunately a search in the Memphis public Library shows that this title is not in their collections but, a brief synopsis is that the main character is born "Dada" (has locks) and is shunned in her society, which exists on a jungle planet with technology made out of plants. One day she realizes she can levitate and...the story continues...

If you check the link (you can copy and paste it) you'll find an article I came across. It focuses on sub-Saharan Africa. Basically it tells of a plan to get rid of AIDS by the UN. I wonder what consequences this will have...
