DIALOGUE AND DISCUSSION ON EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENT AND RACE

The words SPARE THE ROD-SPOIL THE CHILD are not found in any BIBLE.  Not found in the TORAH-NOT FOUND IN THE VULGATE LATIN BIBLE-NOT FOUND IN THE GREEK SEPTUAGINT NOT EVEN FOUND IN THE KING JAMES "VERSION" OF THE BIBLE, and notice the word version.  You can find the words where they were first written, in a poem, that was written in the 17th century by the poet Samuel Butler.  The title of the poem is HUDIBRAS and it is concerning the English civil war.  Please do the work and check for yourself. How and why people have come to know and BELIEVE the elephant manure that would cause them to beat on children is another story that we must investigate. This is just, the finger pointing. You must do the work for yourself.

I find it strange that this has been posted for some time and there are no comments! It is an amazing moment to watch how predisposition works!!!!!!!
I used to beat my son, and then I thought about my father telling me not to break his spirit. I came to see what he meant. Beating children can only do one of two things, or maybe both. And that's either creating a sense of fear and inferiority where he/she won't defend him/herself, or the child can become hostile and abusive themselves. I didn't realize that that was what I was doing to my son.

Another thing that adults don't realize or maybe they've forgotten what the effect beatings (either verbal or physica)l have had on them when they were children and how it's shaped their lives as adults.

Adults haven't thought about asking themselves this crucial question: what happens when the child becomes large and strong enough to fight back and that fear is removed? Remember the movie Antwone Fisher?
Dr.Black i've found the poem. I will start reading it at work today. I've also found out that the poem is a SATIRE on the Cromwellians and on the Presbyterian church.
I hope this helps and makes the work a little easier to do.

What poem? Where can I find it?
Dr.Black I just found out that the saying "Spare the Rod Spoil The Child" is a metaphor.Meaning to cut short sexual passions to prevent conception. I still may need a little help with the rest of the poem one day when you have time.
This that you have found is the meaning relative to the poem, where this thought has it's origin. The thought that is found in proverbs can only be understood after the learner, learns how to translate and transliterate. It would also be wise to learn how to read and not just call words.

Please understand that what we are discussing as meaning is the transmission that is the telle in this case.(B)
Is any type of disciplinary physical contact on a child considered "beating"?
You might want to look up the word disciplinary first.
I did.
So you can answer your own question now.
