1. Are you a giver or a taker and what is the difference between the two?

Though I'd like to romanticize the thought that I am from a line of givers in actually I have been indoctrinated into the taker society and culture. The author Ayi Kwei Armah wrote about as "The Way". The way of reciprocity being the original life process that mankind lived by. When civilization slowly devolved humans into being servants of the few they came to be Takers. Their sole concern being the exploitation of the planets resources. In other words production to max with out regard to any other life forms competing for space and food.

The 'Givers" or "Leavers" lived in a way that mutually beneficial to them and their environment. They hunted or gathered no more than they were able to eat. That ensured the balance of everything.

2.Do African Americans deserve the distinction of being UNHAPPIER than everyone else.

Good question. African Americans, whomever and whatever they are, deserve anything coming to them.

1. I would have to say I am a bit of both. I will go out of my way at times to help out others and not really seeking much in return but a little gratitude. It comes back down to my fellow Floridian Betty Wright" In order to get something, you got to give something". I have learned to accept the giving of others with gratitude more than being so boastful about my giving.

As a taker, I have been conditioned to like some free stuff just like the next slave and former slave in America. At the end of the day, I think that the difference between the two would be how one chooses to view the meaning of giver and taker. For example, I give about 70% effort on my job, because I already know FedEx Office is not going to give me anything greater unless I'm willing to take the extra crap that comes along with moving up the ranks. As a taker from my job, I take the mistreatment that I see on the daily that management dish out to so called “African American” males at my location. For the longest I was the only brother out of a staff of 40. But as soon as HR started questioning their practice we get about 6 brothers. But we still at the bottom and of the ladder in regard to promotions and I know it’s not getting any better. So in that regards, I am a taker of this inequality, because they are not holding a gun or whip making me stay, I choose to because I have not gained the courage and full knowledge of how to strike out on my own in business for myself.

2. I agree with the previous post, if you the fool to allow yourself to be labeled by anyone but yourself, then you should not mind accepting Unhappier than everyone else as a distinction.
