This may be useful for those few who figure out how to do the work.

Interesting that Chandler Owen and A Phillip Randolph became known in Harlem as "Lenin" (Owen) and "Trotsky" (Randolph); possibly why I was never informed of these two men.  The only time I even heard of the Messenger it was related to Elijah Muhammad and not to the magazine created by Owen and Randolph.  An investigation is currently going on involving tea party members and the IRS, however its alleged that agents of the Department of Justice targeted these two individuals for having a voice.  There seems to even be some similarity with the Espionage Act and the Patriot Act.    "We don't thank God for anything...our Deity is the toiling masses of the world and the things for which we thank are their achievement.  (Written in a 1919 edition of The Messenger)

A poem titled If We Must Die written by Claude McKay was even printed in the Magazine and I enjoyed reading the poem especially the final two stanzas...."What though before us lies the open grave?  Like men we'll face the murderous, cowardly pack, Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!"
