THE RED PILL

DIALOGUE AND DISCUSSION ON EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENT AND RACE

This is a word that has been shouted from the executioners rack in England, to the gallows in South Africa, to the mountain paths of North America, to the islands of the Caribbean, to the plantations of the American south.

Great orators have stood at podiums and exulted its properties, and millions of men and women have died in defense of it, but I have never heard any of them share exactly what it is. Don't you find it odd that a concept that you may have to die for is a concept that you may not even know the meaning of?

Don't you think it strange that people were hosed, bitten, paraded, jailed, beaten, bombed, hung, shot and burned for a concept that was never throughly explained to them?

What is freedom? Where did the concept come from? How many times in civilization has a real effort to attain it happened? Where or what are its best examples?

Could it be that a few who understand what freedom is, enjoy it for themselves and then educate and convince others to have an idea of freedom that is actually designed to control?  I hear people all the time speak of their freedoms and rights and in the same breath say government control or an outside authority is needed to protect and ensure freedoms.  Is this possible?  I asked a couple of friends of mine who are christians about free will, I asked one who is raising her children in the church about free will, I asked her if she was allowing her children to decide if this was the path they wanted to choose were other options being presented as well, her reply no they get the free will I decide is best for them.  That's strange.  I asked the other friend if a person is said to have been pre-ordained to do a thing how can they also have free will.  I can't remember his exact response but it didnt make sense.  Freedom IS something that some will die for and others will kill to prevent.  Many claim to know what freedom is but these same people are powerless.  I think a few have a understanding of what freedom is and after noticing that those that speak or fight for it often are made an example of, surprisingly by the same people who the message is being delivered to.  The book Discovery of Freedom is providing a few examples that require more re-search on my part.  What I know about freedom so far is that some don't want the responsibility that comes with it.

Adisa---I feel happy to know someone(s) who are willing to do the work and I am sure that from your effort there is going to be a Great Reward!

The book has offered me a different insight of freedom and the responsibility of it. Lane certainly offers a challenging perspective that requires some thought. In fact it is one of those books that I am savoring and relish. I know I will regret finishing.

This is one of those that one never comes to the end. There is no ending.

This is a conversation that should continue by all means !!!

I am looping in the planned economies chapter. It is chock full of nuclear bombs of information. Freedom is indeed a concept and one can see it demonstrated only if one knows where to look. You can read about it as a concept, but to understand it you have to experience it. Freedom is experiential, it is in the moment, always present. It is a state of being. It is envied by most people on the planet and especially by those who claim hey want it. Freedom cannot be controlled or manipulated. It disintegrates the second it is legislated.
