"Blind" Justice?

This article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Justice has Justice traced back to Ancient Egypt.  Before going back that far (such as by searching for Themis and Dike) can you find the time when Justice was not represented with the blindfold?  When was Justice first represented with a blindfold?  What was the cause of blinding justice?  Please let me know in your comments below, thank you.
