Jawhar ibn Abdallah, surnamed Ja'far al-Siqilli ("the Sicilian"), al-Rumi ("the Byzantine"), al-Saqlabi ("the Slav"),[1][1][1] al-Katib ("the Chancellor") and al-Qaid ("the General"), (Arabicجوهر الصقلي ‎, born early 10th century, died 992),[2] was the most important military leader in Fatimid history.[3] He led the conquest of North Africa[4] and then of Egypt, founded the city of Cairo[5] and the great al-Azhar Mosque.

Jawhar was a Sicilian ghulam of Greek ethnicity.[6][7][8][9][10][11] His family originated from the Emirate of Sicily (hence the epithet الصقلي = the Sicilian), and came as a slave to North Africa. He was sent to the Caliph Ismail al-Mansur on account of his intelligence and cunning. Under his son al-Muizz (953-975) he gained his freedom and became his personal secretary. Soon he was the vizier and the highest-ranking military commander of the Fatimids.

Mamluk (Arabicمملوك mamlūk (singular), مماليك mamālīk (plural), meaning "property" or "owned slave" of the king, also transliterated as mamloukmamluqmamlukemameluk, mamelukemamaluke or marmeluke) is an Arabic designation for slaves.

Ghulam (Arabicغلام ‎) is an Arabic word meaning servantboyyouth. It is used to describe young servants in paradise. It is also used to refer to slave-soldiers in the Abbasid, Ottoman, Safavid and to a lesser extent, Mughal empires, as described in the article Ghilman, which is the plural form of the word.

Pedro Tafur (or Pero Tafur) (c. 1410 – c. 1484[1]) was a Spanish traveler, historian and writer. Born in Córdoba,[2] to a branch of the noble house of Guzmán,[3] Tafur traveled across three continents during the years 1436 to 1439.

During travels to the city called Caffa, Pedro Tafur wrote the following describing what he witnessed in the in the city:

"The city is very large, as large as Seville, or larger, with twice as many inhabitants, Christians and Catholics as well as Greeks, and all the nations of the world. They say that the Emperor of Tartary would have taken and destroyed it many times, except that the lords and common people of the surrounding countries would not consent to it, for they use the place for their evil doings and thefts, and their great wickedness, such as fathers selling their children, and brother selling brother. These things, and worse, are done there by all the nations of Persia, and when they leave the city they turn their faces to it, and drawing a bow they shoot an arrow against the wall, saying that they go thus absolved from the sins they have com- mitted. They say, further, that the selling of children is no sin, for they are a fruit given by God for them to use for profit, and that God will show the children more favour in the places whither they go than with their parents. In this city they sell more slaves, both male and female, than anywhere else in the world, and the Sultan of Egypt has his agents here, and they buy the slaves and send them to Cairo, and they are called Mamelukes. The Christians have a Bull from the Pope, authorizing them to buy and keep as slaves the Christians of other nations, to prevent their falling into the hands of the Moors and renouncing the Faith. These are Russians, Mingrelians, Caucasians, Circasians, Bulgarians, Armenians and divers other people of the Christian world. I bought there two female slaves and a male, whom I still have in Cordova with their children. The selling takes place as follows. The sellers make the slaves strip to the skin, males as well as females, and they put on them a cloak of felt, and the price is named. Afterwards they throw off their coverings, and make them walk up and down to show whether they have any bodily defect. The seller has to oblige himself, that if a slave dies of the pestilence within sixty days, he will return the price paid. When slaves of different nationalities are sold, if there is a Tartar man or woman among them, the price is a third more, since it may be taken as a certainty that no Tartar ever betrayed a master."

There is also a book entitled White Slaves Black Masters that has some information on Morocco and British citizens in captivity in Africa among other topics.

I have heard snippets of this before....in the military.....from a Haitian! I finally got to see this for myself. He would always say,"I know the truth, but in order to be an American(citizen- he was trying to get his citizenship) you have to learn the LIE!!

Read the pdf that is listed above and start investigating why this story is never told when history is being indoctrinated into young people. As long as people are so sure that they can depend on what they have learned to believe, then, those people will never know.
