Al, I agree with you I often think about the comments from my mom that Jelani and I get about him being homeschooled. I remind her that so-called blackfolks were doing this by themselves up until about 45 years ago. She's often told me about at least one sit-in that she'd participated in as a young adult. It's really strange. It's like her mind is split somehow between what she can do and what she cannot do. I'm sure there's a name for that but I don't know what it is.
Oh. boo-hoo-hooo and the tears always fall for the weak and the defeated--- slaves get what they deserve---maybe this person had better get into position to create her own laws---oh, boo hoo hoo
Well it is the law and this has happened before right here in Memphis. Now I am not saying it wasn't hyped, so be it. Here is the real issue, why was she depending on the state to educate her children in the first place? That automatically placed her and her children in a place of inferiority. One thing I have learned to get over is trying to merge a social issue with a legal one. The "seems like" still gets you jail time. That doesn't mean I like or even agree with the laws and it is what it is.
When colored people were faced with this crisis they did not seek to send their children anywhere. They founded their own schools and staffed them with teachers and administrators who cared and were capable.
