Good Morning All,
I must admit that having the Internet radio show to do each week is so awesome for me. With life presenting its many challenges and twists and turns, the show has been a touchstone for me. A way for me to have a focus that I enjoy and that sparks my creativity.
So on the show this past Wednesday we talked about lots of topics as usual. One of the main questions and themes that seemed to run through the calls that I received, was the notion of nutrition.
Can you get all your nutrition from whole foods alone?
Should you supplement?
Are foods as nutrient rich as they used to be?
We had a lively discussion, and without doing a full transcript of the show,
which by the way can still be heard in archived format on blogtalkradio.com station wroi,
My main positions were:
~make sure to contact a health care practitioner before making any drastic changes.
~Do the research so that you know what amounts of nutrients and micro-nutrients are required to keep you and your family healthy.
~Ask challenging questions about your health and nutrition
~Be willing to do something different
I am posting a link to the my pyramid website. This is the United States Government's site that states the guidelines to what is considered a healthy diet. I think that it is very important to educate myself on what the standard is and then to decide for myself what I want to do with that information.
I encourage each of you to look over the info on the site use the free tools provided and see what you think.
I am walking a path towards healthier eating and being!
peace
