What I noticed looking at this cross, were the four letters INRI. Growing up I was told these four letters were nailed on the cross above the head of the crucified christ and were to represent Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudeorum meaning Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. I have come to learn the acronym INRI has many interpretations for example, in masonic interpretations it could mean Igne Natura Renovatur Integra (Nature is completely renewed by fire), In Nobilis Regnat Iehovah (Jehovah reigns among noble men), Intra Nobis Regnum Iehova (The kingdom of God is within us) or even Iustum Necare Reges Impios (It is just to kill impious kings).
Albert Pike, attributes the acronym to the four words Infinity, Nature, Reason and Immortality and the words have also been attributed to four Hebrew words: Iam, Nur, Ruakh and Ieveshah which represent four elements of nature: water, fire, air and earth.
