In my search for what we called 'The Way', this word was introduced.
    Animism:

Animism encompasses philosophical, religious, and/or spiritual beliefs that souls or spirits exist not only in humans but also in all other animals, plants, rocks,...See More

  • Loretta Cleaves GOOD POST!

  • Al Lewis It is a traditional worldview. Some say it is the world's first religion, but it is not a religion, it predates religion by thousands of years.
  • Al Lewis The etymology of the word religion only goes back to latin/Roman to bind back or to be careful.

  • Greg Molefi Thanks Loretta, @Al, I'm realizing it now, and I tried to put religion in quotes to show I questioned it being a religion. It puts everything on an equal plane (no egos).

Greg, I get that and I think that's why it so important to under how language works. If one only sees something out of the eyes of the definer one misses a great deal of mass about the matter.

I caught by your post you had caught it. I was j...See More

That's tantamount to the phrase, "They brought slaves or Africans to the new world." I don't think so. What made them slaves? because they were kidnapped and imprisoned?

That would make them prisoners wouldn't it, but is that all one can se...See More

  • Greg Molefi Al, this search reminds of the episode of the Wire where Kima gets shot. The dealers changed the street signs around so you don't know where you are unless you live there. I feel like I recognize when the signs have been spun around.

  • Al Lewis Great analogy, that is the power of language and the masters know that. Only a few have figured out what you just described.

  • Greg Molefi Al, I like your thinking, I tried pushing the thought that we were prisoners of war. When you read about the aims of those who attain POW's, it is to 'turn' them.

  • Al Lewis Anytime we read about something from the past we need as much texture as we can get so as to gain a better understanding of what it was like. Understanding how to true truth and recognize deception is something we all can benefit from.

Greg there another thought on what the word religion means, but Face Book is not the place to share that one. If you do an etymological search you will find many possible sources and know one knows for sure where it originated from.

  • Theresa Johnson Hi Greg, It means that every living organism has a soul including the universe! Also a part of shamanic knowledge..

  • Greg Molefi HTP Theresa, I think it gives new possibilities to even so called inanimate objects. My best find of the definition was 'true names', the connotation being we are not yet called by our True Names. To be called by my true name, that's life energy undeniable.

The truth can never be known and words have severe limitations in describing what we label soul.

Theresa, may I suggest you try on how it has been defined as such. It is what it is. I suggest one always be careful of other people's definiti...See More

animism Look up animism at Dictionary.com
1866, reintroduced by English anthropologist Sir Edward Burnett Taylor (1832–1917), who defined it (1871) as the "theory of the universal animation of nature," from L. anima "life, breath, soul." Earlier sense was of "doctrine that animal life is produced by an immaterial soul" (1832), from Ger. Animismus, coined c.1720 by physicist/chemist Georg Ernst Stahl (1660-1734) based on the concept of the anima mundiAnimist is attested from 1819; animisic is first recorded 1871.

There is a certain absurdity to this. It was coined in  1720 and derived by another German, damn those are the same people who named you negroes, and now it becomes real, just because they said it. Here groups and clans and tribes all over the planet practiced their views in completely different ways and one or two people name what they are doing as if they understand what those people were doing. It now becomes what they want it to become rather than what it is.
Al, I have beeeeeeen waiting on the interaction that this post should have created, buuuuuuuttt, I probably have just gotten to be an old person and I guess I tend to miss alot. Those who really want to know and understand would do well to look into this post and start the process of learning this small bit of information. This can be the start of a long and very beneficial journey---just a thought........(B)

A good time of the year to go back and look one more time.

Let me reiterate, "THIS IS IMPORTANT"
