After two years of French in high school, I can not recall one moment spent on learning the alphabet  Yet I found in reviewing the above link, the Alphabet is listed immediately following the introduction.  Im pretty sure the emphasis wasnt to really teach me the French language.

And do you not find it strange that you were not taught how to say the vowels in French.

I'm taking it at U of M now. You're right Cliff. There is no discussion on the vowels at all. There's a lot of memorizing of words, and that's about it. I still want to master the language, though.
