This treaty clarified papal bulls issued by the holy roman church to Portugal and Spain.  This treaty and the granting of areas of the new world to both Portugal and Spain, people from the continent of Africa and surrounding islands such as the Canary Islands were kidnapped and taken to the new world.

What did you do in order to arrive at this conclusion?  By the way, this sounds close to right to me.  Why was this information not given to me in grade school?

I have been linking information abstracts I read in the recent past.  Not sure why this information was not provided in grade school, I have a few reasons why I think it could be.  I am looking to find the reason why England was not included in dividing up portions of what was deemed the new world.  I am aware that Pope Alexander VI joined allegiances at times with France, Portugal and Spain during his tenure as Pope and after the fall of Constantinople, new trade routes were needed to continue trade.

Adisa, and, all of those that may be paying attention!!!!!!

We are getting ready to enable ourselves to make the MARCH.

I have been continuing to look into this treaty and have been exposed to several pieces of data!

Pope Nicholas V was the head of the Catholic Church during the fall of Constantinople, 1453.  In the previous year, 1452, he issued a papal bull to King Alfonso of Portugal giving him the right to "attack, conquer, and subjugate Saracens, Pagans and other enemies of Christ wherever they may be found.  Portugal and Spain both claimed ownership of the Canary Islands and asked Nicholas to settle the matter.  In 1455 another papal bull was issued reaffirming the first bull and granted trade rights to Portugal.  Pope Callixtus III the head of the church following Nicholas issued a papal bull giving Portugal military rights under Henry the Navigator.  In 1492 Spain under the rule of Isabella and Ferdinand was able to take Granada completing the Reconquista.  Isabella and Ferdinand also supported and financed Cristobal Colon.  Upon landing in the "new world" Spain requested confirmation of ownership from Pope Alexander VI.  Alexander issued bulls granting similar rights to Spain as Nicholas granted to Portugal.

Isabella and Ferdinand had several children, one of which who married King Henry VIII.  This marriage ultimately led to the separation of England from the Roman Catholic Church.

The separation of England from the RCC and the protestant reformation, not only led to the authorized King James version of the bible but the English placed catholics in slavery in the new world.

This also led to a number of events that would become the stimulus for the invention that is known as the slave trade.
