We should piece together the histories of different groups of people as they have struggled to become citizens of the USA.

Initial reading relates an awareness of what appears to be the desire of the European/American male to not just dominate but dominate with exclusitivity. In spite of their ardent efforts, immigrants established themselves while expanding their cultural presence in the territories of the Great Northwest.

This is the seal of the Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor which later became known as the "Knights of Labor."  The words Noble and Holy Order were removed due to concerns of Catholic bishops and the organizations catholic members.  This Knights used secrecy to prevent members from being fired by employers.  The word "Prytaneum" is located above the pentagon shape.  In general in ancient Greece, each state, city or village possessed its own central hearth and sacred fire, representing the unity and vitality of the community. The fire was kept alight continuously, tended by the king or members of his family. The building in which this fire was kept was the Prytaneum, and the chieftain (the king or prytanis) probably made it his residence.  "Pyro" is a Greek word for fire.  The seal is overlayed over an inverted pentagram, the seal contains a polygon, a circle with rays coming from it, and even a triangle or Pyramid.  The Knights strongly supported the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and the Contract Labor Law of 1885.  In the year 1883, the Knights formed a chapter in Rock Springs Wyoming.  On September 2, 1885 an incident at a Rock Springs coal mine regarding Chinese ended with some 28 Chinese minors being murdered and at least 15 others injured.  

Most recently I have become familiar with the area of Puget Sound located in the state of Washington, and look forward to learning of some of the history regarding that location. 

For some reason the seal of the knights reminds me of the "flail" also knows as a mace or morning star.

I would imagine that this is firm proof of the lengths gone to in order to "protect" and or advance dominion over people within the culture. Or at the very least disallow a toe-hold within the culture/society. Lynching had no real formality but this shows that someone knew that some ethnic traditions did not bow to...mob rule.
