Much of what I have heard or read about the Union of South Africa and Nelson Mandela has been the product of the western press media. Even the outlets that were alleged ethnic-based reporting did little to convince me of the so called facts surrounding that particular region of the world. As you have pointed out about the word they so fondly use to describe that society, it is maddening to reflect an image of ignorance when it comes to understanding exactly what 'their' thinking is/was in standing on the world stage as such. Looking forward to reading other remarks here. Thanks for the 'clues'!
