The Cooper/Jones Initiative will focus on developing the first Commission on Education Prevention and Behavior Modification for the City of Memphis and Shelby County. Our mission is to create a diverse body that can make informed recommendations and decisions in the form of “planning” as opposed to “reacting” to how, what, and where our children learn. The Commission will address such issues as health, education, drug abuse, crime, housing, violence, elder care, child welfare etc, in an attempt to assist the City of Memphis and Shelby County with economically deprived and disadvantaged communities throughout the districts.
We are extending a cordial invitation to you to join us on Saturday, April 6, 2013 to participate through dialogue as we discuss how to promote more positive social behaviors and lifestyles. I want to thank you in advance for your input about the needs that are weighing heavily on the hearts and minds of many who genuinely want young people to develop skills that would lead to safe and prosperous lifestyles that contribute to wholesome citizenry.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience by phone at 615-741-4295 or by email atrep.barbara.cooper@capitol.tn.gov to RSVP your participation and for further information.
Your acceptance of this invitation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you immensely for your support.
