"Obama is making this country, the United States, a socialist country!" Not sure how many times I've read this statment and I begin to think; The United States has SOCIAL security which was in place before the election of President Obama. Is the concept of social security closely related to socialism?

Socialism, social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members. (Britannica Online Encyclopedia)

After reading this I immediately thought, what is wrong with cooperating with one another? Life on this planet seems to basically work through cooperation. I can visualize the greed and suffering of peoples victimized by those who invaded and practically confiscated and controlled property and natural resources, and using the labor of those people to collect/work the property and natural resources. Thinking even more most of those I know of who make the statement about this becoming a socialist country, DO NOT own or control natural resources or property and more than likely never will. Why would it be of interest to those with this thought to keep the status quo or has the thought been given to them by those who maintain an interest a REAL interest in both property and natural resources?

Makes me also think of the tribes who cooperated with the planet and the seasons, taking and using only what they had need of, for their existance and survival then having that existance encroached upon by those who found another way to exist contrary to the customs of those in tribes. The tribes people who relied upon a certain area to migrate and/or gather resources would now be prohibited from carrying on with those customs and ways of existance forced to now work for those who claimed private ownership and/or control.

What happens when not enough young people choose to carry on the work of the tribe? I think a group of people in this "country", who most recently went through an era identified as civil rights, may be able to answer this question if an opportunity was taken to think about what was given up and think about the words of some of the elders who warned of what would no longer be available once lured away.
I spend quite a bit of time i…tag:redpilltraining.ning.com,2011-04-24:3561936:Comment:214742011-04-24T07:45:25.739ZAaron (Al) Lewishttps://redpilltraining.ning.com/profile/AaronAlLewis

I spend quite a bit of time in New Orleans and in fact my oldest daughter lived there up until a couple of months ago. A group of us in a tribe I belong to make a trip there every year for Mardi Gras. We always stay in the hood. In fact we rent a house and anywhere from 10 to 20 or more of us will bunk there for about 6 days. This year we rented a home on the same street as where my daughter lived. It was in a tough, but not run down neighborhood. The dealers we doing their thing on the corners. The first day we came downstairs to take a walk they were all sitting on a stoop next door. They had heard about us and they all knew my daughter. The mother of some of the most dangerous players (one of her sons is in jail for allegedly shooting a witness to a murder 14 times) was next door to where the young ballers were. They all introduced themselves, no threats, just real friendly. They let it be known that we were considered family. Throughout the week they made sure no one parked in front of our drive and we laughed and joked at every passing. The lady invited us to her house to eat all we wanted. You could feel the care for each other. It was real. I felt safe. There was not one incident and if you have ever been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras you know that is some feat.

It dawned on me that the people there somehow had kept some kind of semblance of a clan or tribe or group. I learned that the people there rarely if ever locked their doors. The men took care of the the women and babies and protected their turf and the people that lived there. Even the gay men (sissies) that is what they call them, were treated with respect. Did they beef with other groups? Of course, but that was about protecting their turf and livelihoods. It's a strange thing, but I think I know what has happened there.

Now compare that to Memphis, Chicago, Los Angles, the people in the neighborhoods are scared to death of the young people. No so where I was in New Orleans. If they are going to the store and you are on the porch, remember those, they ask you if you want anything. When was the last time you saw that from so called thugs? We could perhaps learn something from them if we didn't carry so many judgments. You see they don' preach unity. They don't call unity rallies. They don't talk about what they need to do or even call themselves any fancy names, they just do what was modeled for them. Oh they wear what they choose to wear be it alligator shoes, suits, tight blue jeans, or indian headdress, but the one thing I saw very little of was African attire. You see they are from New Orleans and they are proud of that!
@ Al>It seems that there i…tag:redpilltraining.ning.com,2011-04-23:3561936:Comment:215642011-04-23T15:02:39.719ZClifford Blackhttps://redpilltraining.ning.com/profile/CliffordBlack
