I often saw the Order of the Eastern Star emblem in passing — a bright five-pointed star of many colors — and, like most people, never gave it much thought. It was simply there, another familiar mark in the background of everyday life.
But lately, as I’ve been studying corporate logos, something clicked. That same five-pointed design — red, green, yellow, blue, and white — looked oddly familiar. Not because of the fraternity itself, but because of what it represents.
Long before Masonic orders or corporate brands existed, the ancients used these same symbols to represent the elements of existence — Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Spirit. It was their way of expressing the balance between matter and meaning, the visible and the invisible.
