Namaska all. I respect the insight provided in this thread.

Q: How do you know what you think you know? What techniques and methods did you use in order to true, for yourself, what you know? What does it mean to “true” something?

Q: How do you know what you think you know? What techniques and methods did you use in order to true, for yourself, what you know? What does it mean to “true” something?

A: Based on my "education, I knew what I thought I knew based on tests given on the information given. What I KNOW now is that I was simply being tested on my ability to recall information. I took the information as true because my parents, the teacher, the preacher and/or adult(s) must know or seem to know. They experienced things to teach me...or so I BELIEVED.

Q: What is the difference between knowledge and belief?

A: To establish the difference one must first get a foundation or understanding of each word and SEE if they mean the same or opposite. What I came to acknowledge is that knowledge is a act to test, true or prove. and belief is the trust or faith in another. Trueing knowledge can take a lifetime, yet belief only takes a moment.

Q: What does it mean to say that “knowledge is power”? In what way is knowledge power? How does knowledge empower the knower?

A: I don't know how many times I heard this mantra and it was often equated to reading or obtaining an education, yet I didn't know how to read and the education I received seemed boring and mundane like a menial task that required a check to acknowledge completion. It didnt motivate me to push beyond and seek more. Knowledge is power because when one gains the process of knowledge the responsibility belongs to themselves.

Q: (How) does belief empower the believer? Why are we so often instructed to believe others (e.g. teachers, parents, preachers, politicians, and other “authority” figures?)

A: Belief does not empower the believer, it comforts the believer. Because belief is the trust or faith in something. Uproven or untested beliefs can never become more than that hope in something. We are instructed to believe in others because we empower others to lord over or become the gatekeepers. If one does the work or take action for themselves the teacher, preacher, polititian, and other authority figures would have to find another host to survive.

Q: What is autocracy, and how is it accomplished?

A: Autocracy means independent power, self-sustained power, from Fr. autocratie, from Gk. autokrateia "ruling by oneself. Based on this meaning autocracy can only be accomplished by the SELF.
