Understanding The Kingdom (part 2)

Understanding The Kingdom

Part #2

Within the pages of the “Holy Bible” we find constant mention of the word “Kingdom”. Reference to “The Kingdom of God” or “The Kingdom of Heaven” is through out. It is therefore my belief that

the whole of the Bible is written about “kingdoms” on earth. I have come to notice that the “Old Testament” could be considered by the reader to be a history of the “kingdoms” on earth before the coming of Jesus. (both good and bad) I also believe that the “New Testament”, is about Jesus bringing “The Kingdom of God” from Heaven to earth.

Matthew 6: 10 ... your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven....

Luke 4: 43... And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also; for therefore am I sent.

If you will notice both passages are written in red, giving reference to being spoken by Jesus himself.

We now understand that kingdom refers to a government, Let's further investigate. To do so lets divide the word; King / dom.

King—(basileus) “a king”, denoted a ruler and leader of a people, city, or state.

dom-- refers to the word Domain: A territory over which dominion is exercised; a supreme authority (Sovereignty)

Therefore “Kingdom” The sovereign rulership and governing influence of a KING over the territory (domain), impacting it with his WILL (desire), intent and purpose; or a politically organized community or major territory unit having a monarchial form of government headed by a KING or QUEEN

Now let us examine the components that make up a “Kingdom” (government):

  1. The King (GOD) Absolute Sovereign Ruler;

  2. Lord (Christ Jesus) Rules under the King's Authority;

  3. Domain (Earth)

  4. Laws

  5. Language

  6. Economy (Common Wealth)

  7. Currency

  8. Military

  9. Subjects (Citizens)

Next month we will continue our investigation of the “Kingdom of God” with further discussion on the components, and the functions of each. Please note that all governments (including our democracy) have basically the same basic components and functions.

You are probably wondering; why is any of this important. We must understand that we as humans seek a utopian (perfect) society. We expect our religion or our government to create that reality. (Thy Kingdom (government) come, Thy will (desire) be done on earth, as it is in heaven...)

The citizens (subjects) within the government are responsible in some capacity to participate in the governmental process. That is you! With that being said it is all left up to us as “Royal Subjects” within God's Kingdom.

We were born into Capitalism, live in a Democracy, and try to function within the “Kingdom of God”

You be the change you desire to see in the world”

Kingdom Blessings To All!!!
