DIALOGUE AND DISCUSSION ON EDUCATION, ENVIRONMENT AND RACE
What is my nationality????! Yes, I too was caught up in this "discussion." So far I've heard "WE" are the ancient Egyptians, I meant Kemetians, Moors, Nar Moors, the true "indians", the Olmecs, Africans but we can NOT be Africans because Africa is a continent and not a country. We are NOT Americans due to the same reason as with Africa.
I sat and listened to my thoughts and had some interesting questions such as, why are WE never relative to the Khoisans or the Heroro? Are these people not considered a nation without having a country or landmass? Why is it not a popular thought to be of the Nama, the Oolam or even the Griqua people? Interesting enough under apartheid the Griqua peoples were classified as coloured. Is this not very similar to colored people classification during segregation?
So what is the discussion really about?
